VAT Refund for Tourists
Visitors who want to claim value-added tax refunds can obtain application forms when making purchases at stores displaying the VAT Refund for Tourists logo. VAT refunds may be claimed at the airport if the total amount comes to more than 5,000 Baht. In order to claim your refund you will need to fill out form P.P.10 when you purchase your product. Tourists are eligible to receive the P.P.10 form at the time of purchase, when the total purchases come to more than 2,000 baht.
Prior to airport departure, visitors must present a completed form, plus passport information and goods purchased to customs officers. Certain luxury goods must also be shown to a revenue officer. Passenger flow
Departing passengers
Can enter through the entrance on the 4th floor of the departures hall, which can be accessed by car or by foot from the car parking buildings, which is connected to the 3rd floor of the departures hall. Upon entering the departure hall, passengers can check-in at counters 4-10 before proceeding to the passport control and the customs control checkpoints.
Passengers can then continue to the concourse building D via 2 connection channel from the terminal complex. The 4th floor of concourse building D consists of a wide variety of shops that passengers can browse while waiting to board. When called for boarding, can approach the gate via the 3rd floor of the departure hall; and when they have arrived at the gate, they have to proceed to the 2nd floor to the hold room.
All passengers and hand luggage taken on board must be examined. The examination points are on 3rd and 4th floors in the airside area of the concourse buildings.
Arriving passengers
Can enter the passenger terminal via the 2nd floor of the concourse building except bus gate passengers. At the terminal, there are passport control checkpoints where passenegers can collect their baggage from one of the 22 baggage conveyor belts, 17 of which are for international passengers and 5 are for domestic passengers. Once passengers have collected their baggage and passed the customs control checkpoints, they can proceed to the arrivals hall where they will find transportation counters, hotel and accommodation counters and a tourist information centre.
Outside the arrivals hall are pick-up points; in the case of passengers travelling with a tour agency, they must proceed to the 1st floor for buses and coaches. There is a meeting point on 3rd floor.
Transit/transfer passengers
Will have to go to the airside area after they arrive at the 2nd floor of the concourse building from the aircraft in order to proceed with the transfer process before continuing to 3rd and 4th floors to complete departure procedures. In the case of transit passengers, they will have to go through the airside area to the departures service area in order to complete the departure procedures.
Domestic passenger flows :
Domestic departure passengers
Will be able to check-in at counters 2 and 3 on 4th floor of the departures hall. Afterwards they will have to proceed to 2nd floor to the hold room where they and their hand luggage will be security screened.
Arriving passengers
Enter the terminal through the 2nd floor of the concourse building to collect their baggage from the 5 domestic baggage conveyor belts before proceeding to the arrival hall. The service counters outside the arrival hall are shared by both domestic and international passengers.

Welcome to Suvarnabhumi International Airport
Since Bangkok International Airport (BIA) has restrictive development to accommodate the air traffic growth in the future, which is estimated to be up to 58 million passengers per year in 2008 while the full-scale development of provided plot of land at Nong Ngu Hao with its capacity to accommodate 45 million passenger per year, 76 flights per hour and 3 million tons of cargo per year.
Thai Air Asia To Stay At Suvarnabhumi Airport
Thai AirAsia will be the only low-cost airline operating both domestic and international flights from the Suvarnabhumi International Airport when Bangkok’s Don Muang reopens for operation on Sunday.
Thai AirAsia chief executive officer, Tassapon Bijleveld, said staying at the new airport would offer travel convenience to thousands of its passengers.
“By making Suvarnabhumi our hub for all flights, we will make air travel easier for our guests. We offer them access to the AirAsia network, and convenience in connecting to domestic and international flights,” he said here today.
From Suvarnabhumi, which was opened last September, Thai AirAsia operates about 80 flights daily to nine domestic and 10 international destinations.
Thai AirAsia, a subsidiary of AirAsia Bhd, was the first airline to propose reopening the old airport, citing higher operating costs at Suvarnabhumi which has been plagued by problems since its opening day.
Last month, the Thai Cabinet made a surprise decision to reopen the old airport for both domestic and international flights due to congestion at Suvarnabhumi and to allow for repair works but later agreed to start with domestic flights first.
Thai Airways International and the two other Thai low-cost operators, Nok Air and One-Two-Go, will operate their non-connecting domestic flights at Don Muang which is expected to handle 140 flights per day.
Thai AirAsia’s domestic destinations include Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Hat Yai, Krabi, Narathiwat, Phuket, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani and Udon Thani while international destinations are Xiamen, Macau, Phnom Penh, Yangon, Hanoi Airport, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Penang and Singapore.
It will also start daily Bangkok-Xiamen flights from Sunday.
The increase in flight frequencies from four a week comes less than two years after Thai AirAsia began flying to Xiamen with an average load factor of 85 percent in 2006.
